The curtains will come down on the 4th Regional 13 & Under Netball Festival organized by the Sports Division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, on Thursday, August 15, 2013 when the final two (2) matches will be played at the Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth. At 4:00 pm – Antigua and Barbuda will come up against St. Kitts to determine the 3rd placed team of the tournament. Winner of the Round Robin stage, the Dominica National Team will come up against the second placed team – Dominica B, for the championship Match at 5:00 pm. Later, the girls are expected to be in good spirits when they are recognized at the closing/prize giving ceremony at the Officers’ Quarters in Cabrits at 8:00pm. Along with the usual team positions awards, the Best Defender, Best Shooter, Best Centre Court Player and MVP of the tournament are amongst other awards to be handed out at the ceremony. This year, the Dominica National Team, Dominica B Team, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Montserrat participated in this netball festival, which was initiated by the Sports Division four years ago to provide a grassroots netball programme that would expose the younger girls in our region to competitive netball, thus complementing the Caribbean Netball Association’s U-16 tournament.
