The dangers of continuously committing minor sins is they will lead to major sins. Major sins will lead to kuffur and from kuffur to outright shirk. When the heart has been totally blackend the transitions become light and easy, paving a smooth road to jahannam. Example you refuse to lower your gaze (minor sin) it leads to Zina (major sin) which leads to worshiping the woman (kuffur & shirk). Like the french say "money is my religion, woman is my god" (auzubillah). Knowledge is not just knowing, but also acting upon it.
