The dangers of the bush sometimes come from the most unexpected places! This week whilst out on a game drive in Botswana, actually moving in to a lion sighting, one of the vehicles front wheels flipped up a pretty large log that spun around and slammed me in the face. Unfortunately it had a jagged spur that gashed me quite badly, but its now only painful when I laugh! I was lucky...a few inches higher would have removed my left eye, a few inches back would have gone through my temple and Id probably not be here writing this. I wont post any pics of my face because I dont want to scare small children but yes, Im uglier than before! Tomorrow I will be heading back out into the bush but I will be keeping an even more wary eye on my surroundings! And grateful that I have two eyes to do it with!
