The day I interviewed for the shelter more than 8 years ago, there was the saddest old coonhound in the outside kennel completely emaciated!!! I left with him that day, he had a growth, was heartworm positive and was so stuff with arthritis he barely moved! We named him Sonny because when he looked at you it just brightened our faces up! He was the most gentle soul I have ever known!! I could never stop hugging and kissing on him he just loved to be loved on!!! One year later he tested negative for heartworm and I was so happy then two days later he bloated and we drive him to Erie emergency clinic and after X-rays he was completely filled with cancer! Needless to say he never came home with us that day!! I still miss him and was so glad he came into my life and had the best one year of his life with me!! What he gave me in that year will never be forgotten!
