The day Ive been waiting for....biopsy results are clear and I have been discharged. A roller coaster 10 months. The week I discovered my cyst another two ladies I know of were also diagnosed with ovarian cysts, unfortunately theirs were cancerous. I just wanted to bring awareness - so here are the symptoms;- Bloating Pelvic or abdominal pain Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly Urinary symptoms (urgency or frequency) Take Action: These symptoms may be caused by ovarian cancer or by other less serious conditions. It is important to check with a doctor, preferably a gynecologist, about these potential ovarian cancer symptoms if they are new and persist for 2-3 weeks, especially if you experience several at one time. Tests for ovarian cancers include a combination pelvic/rectal exam, CA 125 blood test and a transvaginal ultrasound. A Pap smear is NOT a test for ovarian cancer. But dont forget your PAP test too! Above all do not be led by your GP, I was given antibiotics, Matthew and I battled for days to get a referral. Fight all the way.
