The days of the final The fruits of the Spirit and the advancement of the professional work resulted in an interesting interaction during the weeks spent together. As a result of the growth, improvement and relaxation which were to be experienced daily, many perceived that the experience gained here indicates not the end, but rather the beginning of the basis of the upcoming weeks and months. On Friday, August 9, 2013 we heard thoughts on the topic of „kindness” and were encouraged by the ministry of Mr Rudolf Geigy. The closing concerts of the different sections began at 11 o’clock. We could witness to a fantastic professional „harvest of fruits”; wonderful lectures, interpretations of music and performances inspired by the Holy Spirit were staged. It is a unique experience to see the participants of the Institute in the audience as they are listening to the performance of their fellow participants in a spirit of love and encouragement. Our closing concerts on Friday: 11:00 Conducting 14:30 Piano 15:00 Bassoon and clarinet 15:00 Schumann: Frauenliebe und Leben (Female love and life) op.42 15:30 Cello 16:30 Don Giovanni workshop – the full-length opera performance of the second cast 18:30 Brass At 21:45 we could listen to Uta Runne’s presentation about her film on the „Psalms”, which was supported by excerpts taken from music pieces. Our organ teacher, János Pálúr, participated in the performance of Dvořak music piece entitled Biblical songs. At 22:15 Martin Helmchen and his friends gave a chamber orchestra concert entitled „Night promenade”. David Danel (CZ), Swetlana Meermann (F), Reto Reichenbach (D) and Uta Runne (D) participated in the performance of the works of Janáček, W. A. Mozart, Schubert, Schumann and Webern. The message of the music pieces performed in a very nice and demanding way was pervaded by the spirit of making music and having fellowship with one another as well as that of respect and mutual appreciation for one another. On Saturday morning, August 10 the brass section participated in the worship. Led by singers Timothy Bentch and Tiffani McLaurin, we were singing the famous gospel „Oh happy day!” together with some American singers and with joyful hearts. Upon the invitation of Beat Rink, there was an opportunity for sharing and witnessing to what had happened at the Crescendo Summer Institute. Students told us how much personal experience they had gained both professionally and in their character development. They had been encouraged and many new course lines had been conceived by them concerning systems of values, art or life. Our teachers also gave thanks to their students with a grateful heart. They also received many blessings and much love and their lives were enriched by the students with much experience. Our volunteers also did an excellent job; the great plans of the participants of the Institute wouldn’t have been fulfilled without them. During the rather intense two weeks spent together, a common message was summarized by many of the participants who represented 30 different countries, respectively. Their message was that unity, love and the fruits of the Spirit can become reality in everyone’s lives, which is a perfect path to walk on for the present and future generations. The reports of daily events were made by Eszter Dudás, artistic director of Crescendo Summer Institute. Translation: Gabriella Nagy, Szidónia Majoros
