The deadline for DIRECTORS to apply for the Vancouver Director/Playwright Exchange on October 5th has been extended up until this Friday (Sept. 5th). -- SEEKING DIRECTORS FOR A DIRECTOR/PLAYWRIGHT EXCHANGE Playwrights Guild of Canada and Playwrights Theatre Centre will be hosting a Director/Playwright Exchange in Vancouver, BC on the afternoon of Sunday, October 5th, 2014. The Director/Playwright Exchange is a new initiative of Playwrights Guild of Canada inspired by the Dramatist Guild of America. Ten directors and ten playwrights will be chosen to attend, and all of the participants will have an opportunity to talk briefly about what kind of work inspires them and how they like to collaborate artistically. Interested directors should send us TWO paragraphs (no longer than 250 words each). The first should be a brief Bio, outlining your professional accomplishments to date (this will be shared with the other participants). The second should be a personal Statement of Purpose that outlines your artistic passions. This should be written in the first-person, and it should offer a window into your own unique artistic point of view. Why are you a director? What sort of work excites you? How do you like to work? With whom? Etc. Participation is strictly limited to 10 directors.
