The debate currently going on between evolution and creation, as I observe it, is being played on a board that is too small. The creationists are clinging to the six-thousand year thing but it doesnt hold water. The scientists have excluded the presence of consciousness in their origin theories, forcing people to see themselves as meaningless belches in the cosmic nothing. In this, the focus on what is actually true is lost. If open minded members of both camps could consider the fact that consciousness exists, and it does not have the same dynamics as the physical universe, we get a board big enough to play on. (if you think that sentence is too long wait til you read the next one) Thousands of years of intelligent exploration by spiritual investigators of any domination or title, and hundreds of years of scientific exploration into physical phenomena, taken together, opens room for an entirely new way to look at the universe, and our part in it as human beings.
