The delegation of 15 lawmakers and support staff from the House of Representatives headed by the Speaker Alex Tyler have arrived grand Gedeh County to kick off the Consultation on the Draft petroleum laws on Liberia in the Southeastern Region . The journey to Southeast begun on sunday november 24 with a stop over in Ganta , Nimba County. More than 60 delegates are expected to be part of the Nationwide Consultation by the House on the Draft Laws on NOCAL creation and the Exploration and Production of Petroleum . The Bills were passed by the Liberian Senate in September of 2013 but the House Plenary voted to hold further consultation with citizens before its consideration . The Southeastern Tour takes the delegation to Grand Gedeh , River Gee , Maryland , Grand Kru and Sinoe Counties. Delegates at previous meetings in Northern , Central and Western Liberia have applauded the Legislature for it farsighted approach to solicit views and suggestions from the rural dwellers on these crucial bills . They have expressed concerns about the duration for companys exploration, pollution , separation of nocals function , the management of the Oil revenue . The Legislature has over the years expressed concerns about transparency in the sector.
