The devil made me do it! It is because of our sin nature We are only human! Harsh truth is...we make a choice to commit the sin(s). Yes, mankind is plagued because sin was entered into the world. But there are many things in this world that I do not partake of merely because they are in the world. I despise the smell and taste of liver. Liver of ANY kind is horrid to me, though others love it. And the same is said of sinful things. BUT, I make a choice to sometimes (figuratively speaking) eat liver, even when I cannot and do not enjoy it. And again, some people love it! Just because there are parachutes available doesnt mean that I MUST put one on and go leap from a plane, cliff or skyscraper! Nobody forces me to do so...I choose to do it. Blame is nowhere to be found? Blame is easy accredited to everything and everyone else...but we must take ownership of our choices. The Bible is chock-full of choices! 66 books of CHOICES we can make and it commands us to make the righteous, wise, mind-of-Christ choice(s) and repent when we do not. The devil makes me do nothing! John chooses to do right or wrong. My sin nature does not control me, I give it permission to have control! Big boy pants on...who have I to blame or accuse? Myself. Choose righteousness and strive toward what God commands...Be ye holy for I am holy.
