The difference between dying from depression and dying from cancer is that dying from cancer is more dignified. No one says Oh, they died from cancer. What a coward! They say something like Oh, they fought so hard. What a horrible disease! The disease gets blamed, not the victim of the disease. When someone dies from depression, the victim is blamed and not the disease. I am sick of this stigma my disease has. Im sick of being ashamed of it. I didnt choose to have this...it chose me. I cant control my brain cells, I can only fight to manage them. Ive almost died from this disease. Im thankful that Im still fighting. Im sorry that Robin Williams couldnt anymore, but I understand why he couldnt.
