The dogs and I drove up to New Hampshire today in search of fall - TopicsExpress

The dogs and I drove up to New Hampshire today in search of fall foliage, but we soon realized that only bursts of color are currently available along with a lot of green trees. We stopped at the first rest stop to explore and then headed up to Barrington to our old destination stop, The Christmas Dove, a 16,000 square foot Christmas gift and Christmas collectible store. I have been driving up there for at least 20 years and collecting as I go. The store is owned by Linda and John Svenson, who also owned a store in Faneuil Market Place in Boston until the bad economy pushed them out of this market. Their home is also located on the property in NH and they dont mind if you walk around and enjoy all the land and a pond. Here are some highlights of our trip, which ended up with a seafood dinner at Newicks Lobster House in Dover on Great Bay, a huge tidal estuary. John Svenson happened to be in the store today and recognized me. I have not been up there for a long time, so it was nice to have him say hi. The store looks fantastic this year and he says business is looking good so far. The weather was perfect. Too bad there was no fall foliage to see this trip.
