“The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth.” - Dan Rather I LOVE this quote because it brings me back to one of my first teachers. A teacher I absolutely adored, looked up to, and grew so much with over the many years I spent studying with her. So many times she pushed every button I had, called me out on my BS, and yes she poked me with a sharp truth stick! But all of this was a means to bust me out of my own delusion leading me to what was real life, not my perceptions, not the stories I had created over time, but the simple TRUTH of being human. I often felt a sense of anger towards her as if she was a bully, only to find it was more about what she was stirring up and waking up in me that was the root of the anger, sadness, or frustration. After each eruption or poke a beautiful clarity would appear once the fog of delusion lifted. I found a teacher who sat with me and helped guide me from my own darkness into the light, a friend who cared deeply for me and only wanted to show me the way to clearing the negative samskaras that I had thought I cleverly hidden, and a sweet pure soul who gave me all of her without reserve! Thank you...I love you!
