The drip, drip, drip of new rules that forces manufacturers to devote an ever-increasing amount of resources to comply with regulations are dollars that could have been better spent investing in their businesses, according to a new report released by NAM this week. “One thing I want to make sure we all understand here is that manufacturers believe that regulation is critical to protect worker safety, public health and our environment. At the same time, our regulatory system is in need of improvement. We need smarter regulations that minimize unnecessary burdens, and better balanced benefits and costs, eliminating redundancies wherever possible,” says NAM Chief Economist Chad Moutray.
