The early morning hours of Aug. 18, 2014, I heard (& felt) the wind Slam our house real hard (it does in the country, harder than if we were in town). Sat up in bed, said to myself I cant do anything about it, a storm must be coming. Selfishly I wanted to go back sleep. That morning my husband, Greg, called the house and said grab your camera and take some pictures of our wind generator, it got struck by lightening. As I was about to leave, I thought oh no... what about my flowers. To my surprise the wind knocked down both huge concrete urns from the brick walls on the front steps. The West one busted the staircase light fixture. Luckily, the urns & plants survived (Im still watering them). Lightening struck the wind generator and blew one blade way out into the field. After many weeks, replacement blades were located. Today, Greg & Ashley, our oldest daughter, left at 5:00 am to drive N of Minneapolis to pick up 3 new blades for the Wind Generator. A Long, Fast, Round Trip to get them. I declined the ride, so Ashley could ride shot gun. So, sometime soon theyll have us back up and running! Ill post a picture of the blades, I want to see how big they are when they are on the ground. p.s...... DRIVE SAFE!
