The effects and action look well produced, but the message? A war film really needs to be about message and statement when its based on actual history, this isnt some sci-fi allegory on another planet. This was real, this is close. There are still many alive who bear the scars and the tattoos of the horror that was the second world war. #fury just seems to attempt to further instill that #WWII was the great crusade. That it was, The good war and we were the good guys. Thats revisionist Hollywood John Wayne History. WWII was the largest wholesale murderous slaughter this planet has ever seen, especially if you include the famines and deaths due to displacement right before and after it in Russia, China and India. perhaps 300 million deaths, well never know, and X10 that wounded physically or mentally for life. Only in the United States did we come out fat and happy at the end. We had it good, entering in late in the game fully charged up and expanded our empire and lined our pockets. Our English and French Allies were bankrupted, their empires eradicated into dust, and in the East in Russia and China, the Communists were charged up for a reign of terror and an Iron curtain that resulted in the deaths of millions of political undesirables. This is not to say that Nazism and fascist Japan did not need to be eradicated. But why does Hollywood still need to continue to glorify us as the Saviors in this slaughter?
