The election of murky businessman Delyan Peevski as the new head of Bulgaria’s State Agency for National Security has stirred outrage in Bulgaria, with over 6000 joining a Facebook page calling for protests against the election in just over an hour. A rally is to take place at 6:30 pm Friday in front of the Council of Ministers in downtown Sofia. Parallel rallies are to be staged the cities of Varna, Plovdiv, Lovech, Dimitrovgrad, Burgas, Pernik, Pleven, Blagoevgrad, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Ruse, Sandanski and Kazanlak, among others.
