The evening was dedicated to one of the greatest on dirt in our area, JC Stone driver of the #079 stock car. JC had much success locally and in the ARCA East Series in the late 60s-early 70s resulting in Brewers Chevrolet of Campton, KY sending him and his brother, Carl, to Daytona Speedway in attempt to qualify into the Great American Race. The Stone Brothers were rubbing elbows with some that became legends in stock car racing. Frank Kimmell offered support to JC, while Carl, close friends with Bobby Allison, took his car for some laps around the super speedway. There was little doubt that the Wolfe County Boys were headed for greatness, improving their skills racing three days each weekend. JC Stone was inducted in the KY Motorsports Hall of Fame after a serious head on collision into a retaining wall ended his career. His wife, Barbara, fondly keeps JCs racing memorabilia displayed in her home and was present for last nights JC Stone Memorial Race at 191 Speedway. We are proud to see one of our teammates earn the $3,500 in honor of a great man that helped pave the path for our sport today. Congrats Derek Fisher and the #38 Crew in the Mike Swartz owned machine on a great win!! The night was in memory of a local legend, but Derek, Mike and the #38 crew dedicated this win to Wick Clemons (Father in Law of Roger Stacy #44 Late Model), a great man, wonderful friend and race enthusiast. You will be missed, Wick..God Speed, our friend.
