The events going on in Iraq and Syria are hard to watch... - TopicsExpress

The events going on in Iraq and Syria are hard to watch... especially when you have or had an extended family member that fought overseas. My cousin died fighting in Iraq in 2005.. my Grandpa fought in WWII, and I have a couple cousins in ROTC, joining the Army in a couple years. I fear for the future because I can tell were getting progressively more involved in the Middle East again. Ill never be mentally fit to serve (severe anxiety disorder and major depression), but I fear for my cousins, friends/peers who are now in the ideal demographic to be on the front line. But its their choice to put their life on the line for our best interests, and I absolutely respect that. In spite of the recent events, its more important now than ever to thank Vets for their service, because they might be overseas this time next year. Ive already thanked 2 of my classmates for their service (albeit via text, its better than nothing).
