The excerpts released from Obummers forthcoming address make it clear that we have zero hope of winning. His strategy is both delusional and political. Hes clearly doing everything imaginable to avoid looking like George Bush—he will even make the case why his war will be different. Part of the supposed difference is that we are going to rely on local boots on the ground. That hasnt worked anywhere in the Muslim world. How did Benghazi turn out when we relied on Libyan security? How did Iraq hold up after our boots on the ground left? Who among thinks Afghanistan isnt going to fall apart completely the minute we leave? But I want the American people to understand how this effort will be different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil. This counter-terrorism campaign will be waged through a steady, relentless effort to take out ISIL wherever they exist using our air power and our support for partner forces on the ground.” -What Obummer will say tonight
