The fall of giants is normally traceable to either a direct or remote input of their trusted friends. Attacks do come from enemies but painful betrayals come from trusted friends – I mean those who know you inside out, people that eat and drink with you, people you confide in, those who have all your data at their disposal. Julius Caesar, a one-time Roman leader was brutally stabbed to death on March 15, 44BC. Investigations revealed that the general was stabbed right at the bottom of the curia of Pompey while he was presiding, sitting on a chair, over a meeting of the senate. Surprisingly, he was betrayed and stabbed 33 times by his most trusted friend call Mr. Brutus. ‘Et tu Brute? Then fall, Caesar’ meaning ‘If you Brutus, my most trusted friend is involved in this plot to get rid of me, then let me die’. That was the statement Caesar managed to utter when he noticed Brutus was among those who stabbed him.
