The families who adopted Minka and Athena didnt know each other until one of our adoption counselors realized outside of loving GSDs that they lived near each other and had many similar interests. The adoption counselor connected them and now Minka and Athena have regular play dates. It has also blossomed a friendship between the two families. Both families love their dogs so much and wanted to help give back and are now volunteering at our Adoption Days in San Jose. Minka was a dog that was overlooked at the shelter because she was black and she caught the eye of 1 of our dog evaluators. Her fosters who had her for a month still talk about what an amazing dog she is. Look at how much fun Minka and Athena are having in this video. Both families are thankful that we were able to rescue them. We at GSGSR are thankful that they found such wonderful homes!
