The family of a murdered Chicago police officer is taking on youth baseball organizers at a community meeting tonight on the far South Side. Officer John Mathews was beaten to death by 5 men in 1988. One of those men served 11 years for the crime then returned to the neighborhood and has coached for six years. That coach has now been fired but Mathewss family plan to be at a meeting tonight because they want the board that hired him gone as well.
