*The fascinating journey of Dhrupad begins with the primordial sound AUM from Lord Shiva himself. Dhrupad, the most ancient form of Indian Classical Music originated from singing of Samaveda. It starts with a free flowing Alaap where the singers explores the Raga using the syllables taken from a Sanskrit Mantra. In Indian tradition, music was equated with truth and truth with God. From this rich lore originated Dhrupad, whose roots can be traced to the Vedic scriptures. Dhrupad is a form of music that is meant to bring the mind to a peaceful, meditative state. Its an ancient science of sound and music that aim to develop human consciousness and the corresponding nervous system. The microtonal scales develops our sense of hearing by making us more sensitive to the nuances of sound and their influences.
