The federal government under President Goodluck Jonathan is the most wasteful in my mind in the history of the Country. The trips to foreign countries with large entourages ,inflated contacts to people and organisations of questionable credentials and pedigrees,handouts to visitors to Aso Rock, a profound nonchalance and support for corruption,etc,etc. He operates with the notion that the money is his being the goose that lays the golden eggs and therefore he could waste it without accountability! I wonder if he is the only Niger-Deltan or indeed only the Ijaws comprised the Niger-Delta! I deliberately did not mention the huge votes for the upkeep of former militants which is above the Defence vote in the budget!These exmilitants are being empowered all over the world endlessly- no time frame to complete courses to stop or reduce the budget for them. Nigerians should be very much concerned that the dubious federal government attempted in a desperado move to buy small arms from South Africa for a miserly $9.3 million. The only reason they are stronger than us is their possession of coercive force. Be they armed robbers,pen robbers with armed guards behind them; the robber who comes to rape your wife and children and cart away your possessions; the ragtag policeman who gives the hefty man a slap on the face, the election riggers! Yes,this last instance is a major reason for concern as 2015 draws quickly near. The GEJ regime is a joke; it is a regime of rogues and manipulators in different shades. The advisers know their President, a weakling and naive gentleman. A bit tougher than Shehu Shagari. Nigeria needs a lion to turn its fortunes around. Not these bed hoppers and political jobbers. We need unshakeable critics of the failing State not belly first ones. With the proliferation of small arms,strong measures must be adopted to awaken the attention and focus of the international community on us. We must keep these people awake. We cant trust the government especially the charlatans surrounding Mr. President! Please save your breath about the achievements of the peedeepee since 1999. A purposeful party would have made Nigeria the 8th wonder of the world by now. But they have recycled rogues and insatiable looters to manage the affairs of state in 15 years and counting!
