The fifth week of the Librarys Mystery Book Contest has come to an end! 13 out of 18 of our entrants this week correctly guessed that the novel in question is The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien! One winner has been randomly selected from all of the correct guesses and will receive a MIO shortly about their prize. Thank you to everyone who participated, and be on the lookout for a new Mystery Book next week. Interesting fact about this novel: Tolkien always wanted it to be published as a single novel, and did not consider it to be a trilogy. However, post-World War II paper shortages and the need to keep the price of the book down forced the publisher to publish it in three parts: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. It would be years before the book was finally published in a single volume.
