The fight for justice for NYC area airport workers continues. Today workers from Newark Liberty International Airport took their demands that United comply with the Port Authoritys minimum wage rules direct to Uniteds Office in Terminal C. United, which handles 70% of traffic at EWR, has yet to respond to the PAs issuance of new rules. Workers were joined by Newark Mayor Luis Quintana and Council President Meredith Crump and faith leaders. Workers from all three major airports also gathered today to form contract action teams (CAT) to spearhead the fight for decent jobs and union membership in 32BJ. 32BJ CAT members from other divisions shared their experience and knowledge with airport workers on organizing contract campaigns.
