The film Sita Sings the Blues is fascinating to me because of the interesting narration style and odd music (old blues) accompanying traditional Hindu stories, and the parallel love story. Its also crowd-funded, so the whole movie is at youtu.be/RzTg7YXuy34. I wasnt aware of the controversy upon release,and dont know if there are any Hindus in this group; if so, would love to know your thoughts. Of course, religious images and stories are often incorporated into modern scripts and books. Is this a good way to learn about other religions, by making them relevant and entertaining?
