The final Tennis major is over for the year! The US Open saw so many upsets in the last week on the mens side. 10 seed Kei Nishikori wouldnt go down, taking out Novak Djokovic in 5 epic sets in the semi finals, Stanislas Wawrinka in a 5 set marathon in the quarters, Milos Raonic 5 sets as well *notice the trend* in the round of 16. Not to be out done though, his opponent in the Final was 14 seed Marin Cilic. Cilic took out Roger Federer in the Semis, Tomas Berdych in the quarters and Gilles Simon in the round of 16. No easy match in those. So in the final, Nishikori who played the LATEST match ever in US Open history vs Milos Raonic looked completely gassed as Cilic would dominate from the open, winning 6-3 6-3 6-3. OTHER HIGHLIGHTS: On the Mens side, a huge honorable mention goes to Roger Federer who won his quarterfinal match vs Gael Monfils after losing the first 2 sets. On the Womens side, the one and only Serena Williams plowed her way to her 6th US Open title, and 18th Grand Slam overall beating Caroline Wozniacki 6-3 6-3. #JR
