The first chapter of Augment is revised. Essentially my revision process is to take the first draft and place it side by side with a new document where I can use it as a base point, making additions, subtractions and alterations as are needed. So basically, revision IS rewriting for me, just as everyone says. The revised prologue and first chapter together already number just over 10,000 words. If the work so far is an indication of whats to come, all three manuscripts are going to benefit by being bulked up yet itll be done so through more competent and varied language, more dynamically rendered scenes and a capable sense of structure which I think helps the narrative quite a lot, making for a more mature and confident read.
