The first day of any year is one of the best days to use for reflection. I think about myself and my situation and, looking back, I feel troubled about how 2014 was initially shaping itself out to be. At first, things seemed to be coming along real well. But as the year progressed, certain situations came along that tested my resolve, shook my patience, and nearly brought me out of alignment with all my thoughts and all my goals. There were many times I felt like I was out of balance, out of harmony, and out of tune with who I wanted to be. I had some people close to me come so close to giving up on life that I felt as if I was right there with them and that maybe their stress and their sadness & their turmoil was something that was a part of me as well. One thing I never once gave up on was hope in finding a better way to do things and finding a better way to be, for myself & my friends and my family, in a good way - and always for the better. I find that I do my utmost in giving only the best of me when it comes to those I care about. If Im feeling down, if Im feeling hurt - I wont show it if I know that I can show them a different side of myself thatll make their day better and more positive. With that in mind, I decided that this year, 2015, will be a year for me to have a renewed sense of focus and a rejuvenated sense of determination. All Ive ever wanted to do is be a better man and be a better version of myself than I was the day before. And if you know me than you will understand that Ive only ever wanted to make good situations out of bad ones. Which brings me to my next point - as some may already be aware, others are still in the dark. In October 2014, the tenants of 208s Finest Tattoo were evicted from the space at 245 Main Ave W. Fortunately, one of the artists was able to set aside enough funding to re-secure the location in order to re-open as The Spot Tattoo. Some major renovations were performed and I was invited back as an artist to help bring some good energy back into the space. So this is it, my reintroduction of the place where I am going to continue to be working at for the days to come. Same spot, same location, NEW energy...the place where I first started my artistic endeavor as a tattoo artist. If you ever saw what it looked like before, you are going to flip at how good it looks now...which is why Im so excited to finally share this with you.
