The first game is always difficult because you dont know where you stand. The friendlies are nice but only friendlies. This morning the 97s had their first game against Misano FC. The starters for the game were: Harry, Nico, Ryan, Chase, Lassie, Josh, Mike, Cole, Pat, Levi and Jack. The boys were nervous and had a lot of problems with the pitch, a very hard turf field, however we created some good chances without scoring. We ended up with a 0-0 at Halftime. The coach made several changes and brought Eric, Braeden, Waseem, Garrison and Dom hoping to get a better passing game. Oh man was he wrong. Misano came out and really pushed us back in our half for the first 10 minutes with several shots but either they missed or Harry saved them. Finally we were able to cross midline as well and after a free kick by Dom we were back in the game. Shortly after we received a corner which ended up on Jacks head who headed it to Waseem who scored the goal. Now Misano started to pound on us for the rest of the game and at times we could just clear the ball. Hugo came in for Jack the last few minutes of the game and helped to pressure their defense. Luckily we ended up winning the game. Players of the game were Harry and Levi. Next game for the 96 this afternoon and 97s tomorrow morning.
