The first press conference held about the lockdown at Southern Adventist University didnt shed much light on the situation. Just before 2 p.m., Collegedale Police Department Public Information Officer Tonya Sadler said a credible threat had been made against the campus, but she didnt give details, couldnt say when it was made, and didnt know how long students at the university and at neighboring schools were locked down inside their classrooms. Were asking that everybody there stay inside, stay away from windows, Sadler said. Parents should monitor news reports for updates, she said. Police presence was concentrated on Talge Hall, a mens residence on campus, said a man who declined to release his name.
