The first time i meet this wonderful lady was on a cold spring day i Gutenburg (Sweden) I was at that time a teenager, and she was around 70+!!! From the first moment i understood that she would become a inspiration source. She took me and my lovely friend and Colleague Brusk Zanganeh in for lesson. This private lesson cost usually aound 500 sek, however she gave us lesson for just 50 sek. The lessons was not jsut about the art of violin playing but also about life. She always laughed at my jokes, i dont know if she really understood them thow!? We didnt have our grandmothers here and this lovely, wonderful lady took that role of a grandmother. we spend christmas with her. we talked about our problems in life, our fear for the future and the difficulty taht was in the music bussines and so on.. what ever and whenever i told her about my fear she responded that -Pedram, thats nonsens! you are crazy, im sure you will manage and find your way. I dont know, but somehow she was right. Bouth me and Brusk found our ways in a way. Years went by and we never got the chance to listen to how she played the Violin!!! She was to old she said, and we never were aloud to listen to her old recording or videos! We always wondred ofcourse but we never heard anything untill.... some weeks ago, when i recived this video from Brusk! I asked who the lady was? and i was astonished by her playing. I asked again who that was, i asked over and over again without giving him a chance to answer. You see, the thing is that i might never had hered her play by i recognized the soul of the musician. it was to familiar. i deep inside knew that this is our beloved grandmother. With the video came also a bad and terrible knews. Our beloved Ellen Birgitte Nielsen had past away at the age of 90. I didnt cry while talking to Brusk, i didnt want him to here me cry. I dont know why, i just didnt! Please listen to this video, its so wonderful. what a bow teknik, such a wonderful sound, amazing lady! Ellen Birgitte Nielsen, may you rest in peace and we will never forget you and nevertheless forget the things taught us! https://youtube/watch?v=OJuOO9yb_mY
