The first two times it had to just be a misunderstanding. Surely the cashier at Publix, where shopping is a pleasure, wouldnt deliberately insult and embarrass a customer. It had to be me, I assumed. Well, Roy confirmed as a witness today that the lady clearly dislikes me. How could that be? We dont know each other. In fact, I have only met her the three times she insulted me. The first incident took place last week when I bought two different desserts -- both to take to my parents. Cashier Lady, where shopping is pleasure, rather loudly states, Not just one but two? You must be trying to gain weight! I ignored it like I didnt hear her, although I am certain everyone nearby did. All the way out I am saying to myself but BEJEEZUS I work-out nearly everyday...maybe I need to change it up? The second happened yesterday. Prepared mashed potatoes were on sale. I bought a container. Always good to have in a pinch. I also happened to buy two baked potatoes. Cashier Lady (where shopping is a pleasure) says, Well, that sneaky little trick wouldnt get by me! At first I was confused. What the heck is she talking about!? Then a I looked up, and she had the container and two potatoes in her hand. She was looking at me like I was a child that just got caught stealing. Although I could feel my blood pressure rise, I just smiled. The whole way to the car I was irritated. This lady is getting annoying! Today, with Roy as a witness, another incident. I went through first with all the groceries. At the end, we had two large bags of pet food. Roy was paying for these separately as they are donated. As I tell her that my husband will pay for these separately she pushes her glasses down a bit, looks over them at me, places a hand on her hip, and says, Well we know who the responsible one is here, dont we!? You can afford to buy wine, but make your husband buy the pet food! We laughed all the way home. This evening, when we open the wine, I will be certain to give a nod to Cashier Lady..... Where shopping is a pleasure.
