The flood warning issued by the National Weather Service for the Peace River in DeSoto County has been extended thru Tuesday afternoon. Currently, the river is at a level of 10.9 feet and is predicted to rise to a level of 11 feet by this afternoon. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by tomorrow morning. Any additional heavy rains will impact how high and how long this current flooding will be.
