The folks at ISD (Initiative Schwarze Deutschen) are once again upset because of the way some politicians in Germany are commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther Kings visit to Berlin. Owing perhaps to the fact that Im not exposed to some of the more dirty details of Berlin-city politics, its not quite clear to me exactly why theyre so upset or why they feel it necessary to send out a Press Release like this. From what I understand via the press release, the ISD appears to be upset with a particular politicians utterances which essentially begged the paraphrased question: ...why, then, are refugees (from countries of color) so eager and willing to risk their lives to come to Germany if Germany is supposed to be such a fascist and racist country? To a certain extent, I dont see that as an unfair question to raise/pose (within the boundaries of politically correct speech), particularly in view of the fact that Germany does indeed happen to be a strong magnet for economic and political refugees from all over the world. Stronger, indeed, thany any other EU country.
