The following are some stats on the Colorado impact and response, and some announcements of FEMA R-VIII and HQ standing down (Note, the ▲means new information added today’s brief): Flooding – Colorado Situation: •Flash flood threat significantly diminished across northeast Colorado after 4 days of extensive heavy rain •Isolated to scattered thunderstorms (w/rainfall less than ¼ inch) are possible today across the region Impacts: ▲7 confirmed fatalities;1,253 missing statewide ▲11,750 residents evacuated in 4 counties •Destroyed:1,502 homes 200 commercial, 2,000 other minor •Damaged:17,494 homes, 1,509 commercial ▲Threatened: 22,000 ▲26 shelters open with 706 occupants Infrastructure/Utilities: ▲5,139 (peak 11K) customers without power statewide ▲3,580 customers remain without natural gas in several counties •Several water treatment plants compromised; boil water orders in effect for numerous counties •6 dams were breached but all minor; no large dams expected to fail •CO EOC is fully activated (Level I); Governor declared a State of Emergency on Sep 12 •EOCs activated in 10 counties and 6 agencies/cities •USAR CO-TF1 activated as Type I by the State; elements in Lyons & Longmont counties •FEMA-3365-EM approved Sep 12; FEMA-4145-DR approved Sep 14 •CO NG activated & assisting with evacuations, safety & security operations FEMA Region VIII ▲RRCC returned to Watch/Steady State on Sep 15; OPCON transitioned to UCG •Region VIII IMAT & LNOs deployed to CO EOC & Larimer & El Paso county EOCs FEMA Headquarters ▲NRCC deactivated; NWC activated to an Enhanced Watch on Sep 15 •National IMAT-West deployed to CO State EOC •Activated & deployed to Colorado; •Urban Search & Rescue: White IST, UT-TF1, NE-TF1, NV-TF1 & MO-TF1 •CA-TF2, TN-TF1 and FL-TF2 are on alert •10 MCOVs deployed; 6 onsite, 2 en route, 2 prepping for deployment •Logistics: ▲ISB transitioned to a Federal Staging Area at Buckley AFB, CO ▲129,384 liters of water, 88,496 meals, 2,612 cots and 14,776 blankets have shipped
