The following is a repost from March but thought it may be good to bring it to the top due to a recent experience that a customer had. He had just picked up a BA XR6 ute the day before for $5000 and the guy selling the ute told him for a roadworthy it would only need an axle bearing, a seat belt clean and a mirror trim, he did not mention the rear tyres and one of them actually had no tread at all and the belts hanging out of it, the diff is totally stuffed and another complete page of a job card with faults that were evident with just a quick check over, there is possibly over $5000 of repairs required to get this car to a roadworthy standard, well here is what we posted earlier. Did you know that Pit Lane Automotive and Performance do Pre Purchase Inspections for any used vehicle that you might be looking at purchasing. We have 3 levels of inspections that you can choose from depending on what suits your budget or goal. We are seeing more and more customers coming in who have bought a second hand car without an inspection and found the car to not be what they thought they were buying. Many of these customers are now facing expensive repair bills in front of them, particularly with the Ford Turbo vehicles. Please do your homework and get a proper pre purchase inspection done by a reputable workshop before you buy. A few hundred dollars on a pre purchase inspection may save you from outlaying thousands on repairs. If you would like to arrange an inspection or discuss what we offer, please give us a call on 03-9783-8122. If you are buying a vehicle in Victoria but you live in another state we can carry out an inspection for you provided the vehicle is brought to our shop.
