The following message was sent in by a grandparent. The Columbia County School System is thankful for such positive support! Every year I see an advertisement on WJBF that asks for nominations for their Golden Apple award. Initially I think about nominating one of our grandsons teachers. My second thought is whether or not it is possible to nominate the entire school, Martinez Elementary School. I have been raising children for 37 years and have had interactions with many teachers during that time. The best teachers of all have been at MES. I cannot nominate just one. I love all of them because they care so much about the students and the families of the students. We have been blessed by them. If it were possible for me to triple their salaries, I would do so. It is apparent that they love what they do and that makes this grandmother extremely happy.
