The following update was written (dictated) by Lesley: Wow, what a crazy week it has been! As most of you know, on Saturday, I was in a no-fault car accident, and I nearly lost my life because I wasnt wearing my seatbelt in the backseat of a car. I was ejected from the vehicle when the car rolled. I cant express how important it is to always wear your seatbelt no matter where you are in the car or how far you are going. Today my new nose was unveiled, haha. A shattered nose was only one of many broken bones. I also broke an eye socket, shattered my scapula, broke both cervical vertebrae C6 & C7, broke my ribs bilaterally in 6 places, had my scalp degloved and reattached, and have multiple contusions and lacerations on my face, including around my eyes and inside and outside of my mouth. Those are my major wounds. Miraculously, I survived this AND without any paralysis, brain damage, or even vision impairment. Actually the doctors are telling me that even my facial scarring will be very minimal at most. I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for all of the thoughts, prayers, and support. Thank you. I read everything everybody sends, but am too weak to be able to respond personally. I have an incredible support system of family and friends, who have not left my side since this happened. Thank you so much to them, you guys are my rock. Today I was moved to an acute rehab center where I am already doing very well. Recovery has been nothing short of a miracle in itself. Your prayers are making a difference and encouraging me to keep moving forward, so please dont stop. I love you all and will write more as soon as possible. XOXO.
