The following was posted with our Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service trip album yesterday. May 21, 2014 VETERANS AFFAIRS VOLUNTARY SERVICE TRIP TO PRESCOTT During our visit, we met Henry Alcott, a 92 year old Veteran of WWII and the KOREAN WAR. Henry is pictured with Senior Vice Commandant Frank Blain & Commandant James Kim McCoy. Henry told me he set Community School Classes in Kingman and Lake Havasu city years ago. He also told me his wife was an author. I Googled and found an article in the February 3, 1976 KINGMAN DAILY MINER where Henry Alcott told the paper that the SPRING CLASSES were set. If anyone was acquainted with Henry and his work, Im sure he would love to receive a note from you. Kind regards & Semper Fi, Russ P.S. Perhaps writing a note to Henry could be a CLASS PROJECT for some students in the Kingman School District. ________________________________________ The following is a copy of an e-mail this morning... May 23, 2014 Good Morning Everyone, Henry Alcott served his country in both WWII and the KOREAN WAR. After his time in the military he worked in school districts in our communities. He now is confined to a wheelchair living at the Veterans Hospital in Prescott. It would be great to see someone from Kingman or wherever write to Henry. Can you Imagine what a lift that would be for him? Kind regards & Semper Fi, Russ P.S. Does anyone know any educators in Kingman or Lake Havasu City? If so, please forward. Maybe someone will pick up the ball and run with it. Only a Life Lived for Others is a Life Worthwhile...Albert Einstein
