The following was submitted by center Rich Ohrnberger. Midway through our season I’m proud of our resilience and the fact that we’ve had so many injuries and have overcome a lot of that adversity. You start out the season in a certain way with certain expectations, and everything can change all at once. It’s happened a couple times at a couple of really key positions. So it’s really been great to be around a team that pulls together and gets through those storms. We are still 5-3. We have one more before the bye and are at the halfway point. The only thing we can’t be is 14-2. We can still do great things this season and we plan to. Our entire offensive line is a band of brothers. For me it kind of starts with Nick Hardwick, and he’s a tremendous mentor for me. He’s a good friend and a fast friend. I’ve only known him a year and a half and he is a guy I will be in touch with for a long time. Our entire line is close. It starts with guys like Nick and Clary, and it came together quick. Chad, King and I came into this as free agents last year and then Fluker was drafted. Johnnie was drafted a couple years back and this year we draft Chris Watt. Then there are guys like Willie and Jeremiah and Craig; we have this whole group together and we feel like a family. You look at the back of our jersey and we all come from different places. You have your family’s name, but the front says CHARGERS and that makes us brothers. We believe in that. We get after each other like brothers, and will fight and make up. But we all have each other’s back and are there for each other. It’s an awesome room and I couldn’t be happier with the situation here. This season has been humbling personally because you always hope to start, and you never know if it’s going to happen. The fans here, you all have embraced me and it is humbling the way I’ve been received here. The fans in San Diego are the best fans I’ve ever seen. We have great support at the games and on social media your response is great. We are trying to bring a championship to San Diego. That’s all we think about. That’s all we care about. So the support is great. Keep it coming, and I’m glad you’ve been behind me. It’s a great feeling.
