The former Liverpool man could not keep his usually trademark cool whilst watching his team struggle this evening. Real Madrid took on Atletico Madrid this evening in the Champions League final, and no doubt they were always going to miss their midfield general Xabi Alonso. The former Liverpool man, who has of course won a Champions League medal already in his playing career, unfortunately picked up one yellow card too many in the second leg against Bayern Munich in the semi-final. - and is therefore suspended for the matc. So the man who scored in that famous Liverpool night in Istanbul is out of action, but he is of course still at the game. He even popped into the Sky Sports studio before kick-off - having a chinwag with former Liverpool team-mate Jamie Carragher. He also epitomised cool. Crisp suit, Ray Bans on beard and hair looking sharp. Just like his playing style Alonso seriously is mister cool. Although he certainly lost it at some point in the first half. It is reported that the video attached is in fact his reaction to Gareth Bales shanked effort just moments before Diego Godin scored the opening goal. And it shows Xabi in a far more fractious light.
