The forum was hosted by the newly formed the Kenya Palestine Solidarity Movement (‘Kenya na Palestine’ - KNP by its Kiswahili name), that is based in Nairobi, Kenya. KNP is a broad-based coalition of Kenyan groups and individuals who support the struggle to free Palestine from Zionist occupation and colonialism. The KNP initiative was as a result of the various solidarity activities that took place in Kenya and internationally after the recent attack on Gaza in which thousands were killed, wounded and displaced. KNP feels it is time for the various organisations and individuals to come together to form a strong, united and focused movement that can spearhead activities in Kenya in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
