The foundation of morality should not be made dependent on myth - TopicsExpress

The foundation of morality should not be made dependent on myth nor tied to any authority lest doubt about the myth or about the legitimacy of the authority imperil the foundation of sound judgment and action. Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able, and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able, nor willing? Then why call him God? There are no perfect people, only perfect intentions. All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. Chance favors the prepared mind. When faced without a choice, one finds the impossible less of a barrier. Everyone is guilty of all the good they did not do. If you want a happy ending, it depends on where you stop the story. If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do. Because thats all there is. Everything is assumption based on deduction. Nothing is absolute. But if we use that as an excuse for inaction, we remain stagnant, and all too often pay a heavy price. I love by these words and many others. Tell me you do the same when a straight face.
