The fox, it fleets and jumps and howls As leaves stick to its drooling jowls It prances on the forest floor But seeks another, something more The lone dog weeps alone to find No peace within his solo mind And yet he reaches out and far With pointed ears for friends to spar The lift? It comes, but moments pass And moods regress to something crass Foulness sets the tone as poor While sadness taints the foxs core Where is the light? he whimpers slow A victims plight, A martyrs show Until he stands upon two feet And changes all thats been so bleak A friend appears, around he slinks To soften all that foxs kinks His fur is copper, eyes are dark Has profound goals to leave his mark His pride is something to behold Inherent thoughts of radiant gold The world is bright! The sun, it shines! The damp ground dries and summer dines On mildewed grass and evergreen peaks On beetles, slugs, and wild leeks Its time to dance with other beasts To relish in more earthly treats Where joy and optimism grow Where all the happy creatures go His little paws shall try again To covet trails that havent been To forge ahead with spirits high In keeping with eyes staying dry Sleep little fox, its time for bed Lay to rest your whirring head Tomorrow you can begin once more Your prancing on the forest floor
