The galapagos Islands were formed from lava volcanic. The volcanos still active and the islands keeps growing. Galapagos is very protected. Foreigners can come here only to tour but not to stay, its amazing how much damage we can do to the ecology. This lake its formed on top of the crater that sealed itself after eruption. 750 meters above sea level. Its sweet water that replenish the whole island. There are about 22 islands, only 4 are habitable. There is not enough drinking water. The saddest part is the invasive species that destroy the ecology. Some of them were brought here by man and others through birds who eat the seeds that cant be digested and bring them from island to island. The Galapagos island are one of our biggest treasures. Here are plants thousand of years old. Here Charles Darwin stablished his theory of the evolution based on the changes, adaptation and mutations of the species.
