The gentle rays of a late summers afternoon, the cool breeze - TopicsExpress

The gentle rays of a late summers afternoon, the cool breeze anticipating impending autumn. What better conditions for a hike through the rolling Wiltshire downs? Instead a bus ride to central Swindon. A visit to the home town of Gods Wonderful Railway has now regrettably become a seasonal event for Cov supporters and a crunch game for me especially if Palace are playing and winning (#paula_will_be_unbearable). Cov expected to line up in their new pedestrian 3-5-2 formation, as joyless as a visit to see Long Days Journey Into Night. Swindon in their High Speed 1-2-5 which today is in reverse formation with First Class performers at the back. Lovers of the beautiful game will note this appears to be 2 men down but this is the customary nod by the Dobbins to FGWs habit of understaffing. Under Di Canio Swindon strongly favoured the right wing. Am interested to see whether the new regime has established a more palatable balance, a more exciting platform. A buzz in the home crowd, their long wait for electrification almost ended. Sky Blues, having been shunted outward without ceremony, are focused on next weeks return. A blustery wind threatens the quality of this afternoons fare though the County Ground is well known to be vulnerable to such external influences along with leaves on the pitch, bird on the line (though that proved to be the Dobbins mascot). After 45 mins of the most sterile footie imaginable Ht 0-1. Dobbins competed well with Cov for turgidity and pedestrianism. Looked like being a shot and corner free H1. Just as Dobbins took command they presented Cov with a goal of epic errors. Could still go either way but neither side deserves anything for this.
