The girl on the left is Akiane Kramarik. She was born to two very loving people in 1994 (Illinois), who also happened to be atheists. There was no theological discussions, prayers, etc -- just wonderful love. Their upbringing was also isolated and simple: no television, radio, family or friends, though not for a lack of trying. In 1998, when she was 4, she told her mom she met God. Shocked to hear that word uttered, she replied, Whats God? Her story, written by her mom, is very interesting. At the age of 8 (2002), she was ready to paint Jesus, whom she also met. She painted the portrait below entitled, Prince of Peace (oil on canvas). There is a progression piece that shows she painted it. In 2003, 3-year old Colton Burpo had a near death experience in a hospital in Nebraska during a family vacation. Opposite of Akianes parents, Coltons parents are spiritual. His dad is a pastor of a church in Oklahoma. Coltons story is very interesting as well, penned by his dad. Anyhow, Colton starts to reveal in kid speak, what heaven is like and how he met Jesus but he cant fully describe him. Over the years, his dad makes it a game, finding portraits of Jesus and asking, Is this what he looks like? And he would respond in the negative, citing whatever was wrong with the picture. One day, his dad gets an email about Akiane and her paintings. He sees her painting of Jesus and calls Colton. Whats wrong with this one? His dad asked. Silence. Colton? Colton, now seven, turns to his, Dad, that ones right. Please, I would like your thoughts and conclusions on this.
